I've found some great sites that sell fair trade, organic and ethical fabric & haberdashery at very reasonable prices.
www.fairtradefabric.co.uk/ have some great fair trade cotton fabrics sold by the metre and as fat quarters. They also sell organic cotton yarn for knitting or crochet.
www.organiccotton.biz/store/ have a large selection of fabrics including jersey, lycra, silk and denim as well as organic cottons plus organic cotton thread.
www.offsetwarehouse.com/ also have a large selection of fabric and ethical haberdashery including threads and interfacing.
www.whaleys-bradford.ltd.uk/ are a good choice for anyone who dyes or prints their own fabrics. They have a large range of natural fabric which are specially prepared for dyeing and printing and it's made in the UK. We used Whaleys when I was at university.
All the sites offer samples, Whaleys and Fairtrade Fabric's are free.
