When we're selling an ethical product I think it's worth considering packaging too. I recently had a customer share her picture of her t-shirt on instagram because she was so pleased that the packaging was minimal and recycled and recyclable. I've also had messages thanking me for not using plastic in wrapping from people doing plastic free July - maybe we could share packaging ideas too, and make a feature of that?

Agreed, I think sometimes it's easy to forget about the packaging. I've been using eco mailing bags for anything that I send out, their tissue paper is completely recycled. The only slight issue I have is that although their mailing bags are recyclable they are not made from recycled materials which would have been ideal. Also it would be nice if somewhere on the bag they printed "please recycle this bag" as it's really not obvious so I am having to add slips of card letting customers know. If anyone has any alternative suppliers I'd be very interested!!

I reuse all packaging I receive-I must admit it doesn't always look as pretty as I would like-but I hope customers appreciate the product inside enough not to be put off-I'm thinking of printing cards to put inside explaining that the packaging is recycled? do you think it puts customers off?

Hi littlepapa, I think if packaging is in a state to be reused then it's totally fine. Adding a note is a great idea, I think it is all about adding value, and if the customer knows you have gone to extra effort, in any form, then it is always a bonus.
